The Greens is proud to announce our new Artist Residency Program. As a facility, we recognize the importance of the Arts as a healing tool as well as a means of self expression and communication. This program will expand our onsite concert series, bringing a new excitement to our campus.
The residency focuses on the inclusion of recent graduates from the SUNY Purchase Music Conservatory, further strengthening our community bonds, and supporting local artists – something about which staff and residents, alike, are passionate. As many of our residents have been artists themselves, it is another opportunity to honor them and validate the music within all of us.
The beginning of Fall will always be the start of the school season – no matter what our age is, it brings the feeling of more to learn and new experiences to be shared. We are excited to announce the start of our partnership with SUNY Purchase, SUNY New Paltz, Eagle Hill, and Sacred Heart in Greenwich, CT.
Students from these schools engage with our community as interns learning from our Creative Arts Therapy staff, or as “buddies” forming relationships with our residents. Our residents get to share their history and their knowledge, as well as impart their wisdom and guidance on a younger generation.
We’re pleased to have the follow artists in residence at The Greens:
SUNY Purchase Intern Vicky Alvarez
Artist-in-Residence Lauren Jones
SUNY New Paltz Intern Tamara Sastow
Artist-in-Residence Alice Limoges
Artist-in-Residence Claire Deane
