We jump into the season of gratitude with both feet, taking the time to reflect on all that we have. At The Greens, our gratitude runs deep, thankful for all of the layers that make this a home. The residents, of course, who teach us so much about life; the staff, who provide the unparalleled care; the students who remind us that we are continually learning; and the families, who entrust us with their loved ones—everyone has an important role in our ecosystem.
Studies show that practicing gratitude can make you happier, assist with sleep, and boost your immune system—we’ll take all three, please!
So, how do we practice gratitude?
It can be as simple as thanking someone for being present in one of our activities. After all, showing up is a necessary part of building community. It can be as complex as making someone a gift, filled with thoughtfulness and intention, to show someone we are thinking of them. Everything in between counts, as well; like bringing someone you love a cup of tea when they aren’t feeling well. All of these practices that we often do without thinking cumulate into showing our thanks.
Thank you to everyone who contributes to our ecosystem, and for being present in all the ways that you are. Cheers to the beginning of the holiday season, keeping gratitude in mind, body, and spirit.
