Navigating Health Care Options for Seniors: How Do I Create and Manage My Team of Medical Professionals?
presented by The Greens at Greenwich in partnership with CareBuilders at Home and the YMCA of Greenwich
Thursday, October 24, 2019 5:30 to 7:30pm
YMCA of Greenwich
50 East Putnam Avenue in Greenwich, CT
The Healthcare system, especially elder care, is complex and multi-layered. There are a variety of living options for your loved one or yourself. Living options need to be combined with care options to ensure the needs of the individual are met. It requires a team of specialists in senior and geriatric care to provide a meaningful individualized lifestyle as we age.
• How do you choose the best place for your loved one to live—at home, independent living, assisted living, nursing home?
• What care providers do you need to support the aging process—home care agencies, geriatric care managers, visiting nurses?
• How do you coordinate, manage and pay for a team of medical professionals, care managers and other resources?
The seminar will provide an overall education to help you make informed decisions and provide guidance in the process. It will explore the pros and cons of the various options and provide you with an opportunity to ask questions from a team of experts in the field. Judah Schuster, Director of Operations at CareBuilders at Home, will lead the seminar followed by the panel featuring:
• Judah Schuster, LNHA, Director of Operations, CareBuilders at Home
• Dr. Stephen Jones, Medical Director, Yale/New Haven Health Systems
• Carol Edelman, MSN, Geriatric Nurse Care Manager
• Maria Scaros, LCAT, Executive Director, The Greens at Greenwich
“Healthcare as we age means creating a whole new team of professionals to best meet our needs. We want to empower you with the information you need so you can put together your new medical team.” Maria Scaros, Executive Director, The Greens at Greenwich.
Seminar leader, Judah Schuster, speaks around the country on this topic focusing on guiding families to accurate care options that are right for them. “Providing guidance, direction and information to seniors and their families gives me great satisfaction.”
